Crop Treatment Camp: New Hope for Farmers in Disease and Pest Management
Bheri Ganga Municipality Initiative:
Bheri Ganga Municipality has conducted a free crop treatment camp. Farmers were asked to bring plant samples and seek advice on identifying and treating diseases and pests. In which, a group of five BACG students from GSAF Ramghat was supervised by Crop Protection Officer Suraj BC Sir. About 90 farmers were given advice and suggestions for treating diseased plants and distributing organic pesticides. Farmers say that the farmers were very happy to see such work. The students were also happy to see their theoretical knowledge being put into practice.

Operation of the camp
Crop treatment camps have been operating in Nepal since 2008. At the government level, an agreement was signed between the Directorate of Crop Protection and CAB International in 2011 and the camps have been operated under the Plant Wise program.
Importance of the camp
- Timely identification of diseases and pests: Farmers can identify and solve the problem in time.
- Safe use of pesticides: The camp helps in the safe and judicious use of pesticides.
- Increase in production: Problem solving increases crop production.
